Randy Hays, CEO and founder, personally laid one of the first pavers in the state of California at Pier 39, San Francisco. He spotted a great opportunity and proceeded to co-found EPD in 1980. Since there were no standards for the industry (the ICPI was founded in 1993), Randy worked with manufacturers and adopted European cobblestone installation methodology in order to facilitate the growth of the industry. Now, Randy is crucial in leading estimating as well as lending his knowledge for overall market growth.
